Book Your Quick Professional Headshot in Glasgow

A Mini Shoot is a 20 minute photoshoot. It’s super simple.

A few headshots from different angles so you have a lovely new professional photo to update your social media profiles, revamp your website, or boost your online dating profiles. I’ll take lots of photos and you’ll choose your favourite for editing.

The link to book is at the bottom of this page.

My superpower is putting people at ease in front of my camera.

I'm professional, discreet, friendly and approachable.

No awkward positions, cheesy poses, filters, forced grins or nasty airbrushing.

No big lights or studios.

When is it?

What kind of photos do you take?

Really natural, relaxed pictures. Formal or informal, whichever suits you. Have a look at the photos on this page, or over on my Portraits page, to see the type of headshots I take. There are no overwhelming lights or studio set-ups, just simple flattering natural light. You’ll have a choice of backdrops on the day: the office itself (glass window/white wall in the example photos), a solid white backdrop, solid grey backdrop, or a solid black backdrop.

How much does it cost?

A Mini Shoot costs £95. This includes the shoot itself, a private online proofing gallery to choose from, and one edited image of your choice. Your choice of photo is provided in both colour and black & white jpegs, in large and small formats (suitable for printing and for online use). You can choose to buy additional photos after the shoot - most people do - but there’s no obligation.

Where is it?

At an office in Merchant City, Glasgow G1.

Is it accessible?

Yes, the ground floor where the shoots taken place is accessible.

Who are you?

I’m Julie Broadfoot, a professional photographer based in Glasgow. I'm professional, discreet, friendly and approachable, and my superpower is making people comfortable in front of my camera. Find out more about me and my business on my cunningly-named ‘About Me’ page.

Can I try different outfits during the shoot? Can I change my hairstyle and make-up?

Yes but it will have to be done within your 20 minute shoot so plan your changes cleverly!

Can I see the photos you’re taking during the shoot?

Yes. I’ll show you a few on the back of my camera so you can relax, knowing what I’m shooting.

Do you edit the photos? I have a spot!

Yes, my editing produces a really natural, polished look. No airbrushing or Photoshop fakery. But I’m not going to force you to live with a spot if you happen to have one on the day of your shoot. I can sneakily edit that out. I just won’t change how you look.

Can I have the RAW files?

No, and photos mustn’t be edited after I’ve supplied them.

I am nervous, is 20 minutes enough?

I totally understand. I’m the same when faced with a camera (which is why I chose a career behind it). Honestly? Please don’t book a Mini Shoot if you’re anxious about this. If you are really worried about being photographed then it’s best you don’t rush things with a 20 minute shoot. I recommend working with me at a longer portrait shoot so you’ll have more time to relax and get comfortable, and we can work on more angles and outfit changes.

What can I use my new photo for?

Update your profile picture on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Add it to job applications or your CV. Add it to your media kit so you’re prepared to send out a press release for your business. Revamp the ‘About’ page on your website. Spruce up your online dating profile. I retain copyright of all my work. If you require images for a product that will be sold (e.g. book cover, album art or t-shirt) then please do not book a Mini Shoot, email me for a quote instead.

What if I want more than one photo?

You will be able to purchase additional photos after your shoot if you would like any. Most people find they want more. £35 for 1 extra, £55 for 2 extras, £110 for 4 extras.

However, if you’re looking for a variety of photos then it’s better to book a full portrait shoot. That gives us more time to work together, to produce a variety of images that are bespoke to your needs, and you’ll have many more images to choose from.

Can I just turn up on the day?

No. All bookings must be made and paid for in advance.

How do I pay?

You’ll pay online when you book. Mini Shoots must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your Mini Shoot, let me know asap. The fee paid is non-refundable but if you give me more than 24 hours notice then it can be put towards another shoot that must take place within two months of your original shoot date, whether that's another Mini Shoot or a bespoke portrait shoot. Please do not attend your shoot if you are unwell. It puts me, my family and other clients at risk. Thank you.
